Juan wins again, Salvatore retires from US Grand Prix

With season 5 upon us it has seen many drivers quietly going about their business practicing different strategies, setups in pre-season testing, in anticipation for the new format which has included 2 extra tracks to the calendar this season. USA being the first race see many drivers eager to get off to a good start and qualifying playing a pivotal role.

Skeevan – newly promoted from F2, impressed instantly putting himself in pole position and already out qualifying his teammate Kingpin, whilst Jack qualified 2nd in a familiar front row position for him and fflair 3rd, proving that the newly promoted drivers are here meaning business, whilst last years WDC Salvatore would have hoped for a better start than 7th.

Going into the race saw a very clean turn 1 just showing the skill level and respect for eachother in the field, however going into the esses, skeevan had to take evasive action on jacklacey losing 2 places in the process. MaxilucaGT5 went about his business early on in the race creeping up to the leading pack (jacklacey, skeevan, fflair) creating a 4 way battle. As the rain came it saw many drivers switch positions with the unexpected rain forecast that wasn’t predicted prior to the race. Many drivers struggle who qualified on the SS meaning pitting a lap early or falling off the pace dramatically with the tyres falling off the cliff, the biggest gainer see TBell who started the race in 17th gaining 13 places after the first round of pitstops going into 4th.

MaxilucaGT5 was in cruise control when the rain came building a solid gap ahead of 2nd place fflair. Lap 13 saw drama as kdunn & lamine coming together in the last sector clipping kdunns front tyre causing him to retire meaning the SC coming out for the first time this season. As the damp conditions turned dry in the latter part of the race MaxilucaGT5 lost the lead staying out a lap too long meaning OfficerJuan, who had been just off the leading pack throughout the race now had clean air ahead of him to push on for the win as MaxilucaGT5 had a spin just before going into the 2nd DRS zone.

Points played a key role as MaxilucaGT5 who finished in 3rd was the biggest loser dropping back to 10th claiming 1 point and see officerjuan win the first race of the season and looks no push over going into the next race which is at baku.
