This weekend, our attention turns to Russia, as our drivers prepare to take on the Sochi Autodrom. This 5.8km racing circuit in the Black Sea resort town of Sochi, Russia, boasts some fantastic high speed corners and brilliant overtaking opportunities. All the teams will start to show up tomorrow in preparation for this race, but already preparing will be the two drivers locked in a heated title fight. OfficerJuan and xJackLacey, both inhuman when it comes to on track ability, will be desperate to take the initiative as we head towards the back end of the season.
OfficerJuan started the season with four straight podiums, but since then has struggled to find the form he had at the start of the season, he will be certainly looking forward to the race but will need an extremely tough mentality to hit back from a couple of setbacks. Meanwhile Jack started the season slowly before finally coming into his stride at Baku, earning the second step on the podium. Since then he has finished on the podium three times in four races, so he will definitely fancy his chances to do it again, especially after getting his first win of the season on Sunday at Austria.
The weather is an interesting one as there is some rain lurking around but reports suggest it should stay dry for the race, which means our drivers can focus solely on some fast clean racing.
We are a long way from the chequered flag in Brazil dropping, but with these two poised in such a high stakes fight, you can’t help but think there will be plenty of twists and turns to come the in next six races. Who knows, we may even get a three horse title fight if other drivers can find the same sort of form as Jack and Juan are currently displaying.
We can’t wait for lights out in Russia!
