Singapore Grand Prix

Sunday approaches and this week, PSF1 heads to Singapore, and it’s always a fan favourite!

The Marina Bay Street circuit takes place on public roads, taking in some of the cities famous landmarks against a backdrop of the spectacular Singapore skyline. The 5km circuit is sure to put on a spectacle for the crowd. Despite strong financial support from the government, PSF1 has only visited Singapore once in its history. Due to its rarity in visits, the hosts are expecting a sell out crowd in excess of 100,000 come Sunday. Singapore is the third and final proper street circuit on the calendar this season, OfficerJuan winning Monaco, and Cliffy picking up the points in Baku, you’ve got to favour the Red Bull slightly going into this race though, with its increased down force. Cliffy’s teammate, DeanOnTheScene, won this race in F2 last season, so he will be hoping for a strong result too.

“Cliffy has got lucky!”

These are the words of his critics anyway! Is Cliffy’s impressive run of form down to sheer luck, or is Cliffy simply in the form of his life? With Cliffy finishing no lower than 2nd place in the first six races, it’s hard to argue with those stats. If this kind of form is continued going into round 11, Cliffy will break all sorts of PSF1 records, and when your name goes in the record books, it usually isn’t down to luck.

Cliffy secured a podium for PSF1’s inaugural race in Singapore, whereas title rival, OfficerJuan, took first place last time around. Both drivers are feeling super confident going into the weekend, but with a 42 point lead in the championship, Cliffy may well be willing to take this tricky circuit slightly easier. A DNF here for Cliffy would help OfficerJuan massively, so that is something he will want to avoid at all costs.

Sundays Forecast

is looking relatively clear and there seems to be almost 0% chance of rain, with temperatures soaring to up to 32 degrees Celsius. In that kind of heat, drivers can expect to lose up to 3kg in weight during the race, so they will be working extra hard in the gym this week to prepare!

Join us at 8pm BST on Sunday the 23rd July 2017 to witness the next chapter in this thrilling season.
