Austria Stewards Report

Formula 1

Incident: Louis and Thomas had a coming together on the entry to T4.

Stewards View: Whilst it’s possible Louis did make contact with Thomas, the contact is clearly exaggerated and it looks like a clear case of netcode. In this case, neither driver could reasonably avoid the incident.

Decision: No further action warranted.

_____________________________

Incident: Penny slightly impedes Lego in qualifying.

Stewards View: Penny was in the pause menu during his inlap, which, unbeknownst to him, did not ghost his car until contact with Karting. Whilst Lego wasn’t impeded, Penny should not have been in the pause menu.

Decision: No further action warranted, but a warning to other drivers and Penny, that you must not go into the pause menu during an out or in lap, as there is a 50/50 chance that your car might not be ghosting. This may be penalized in the future.

Formula 2

Incident: Aldooro and Bastos make contact and crash on the exit of turn 1.

Stewards View: Aldooro’s video showed us that Bastos was not right next to him, and this was another case of netcode, caused by aldooro trying to cut Bastos off on the exit.

Decision: No further action warranted.

_____________________________

Incident: Polar had an unfair 5s penalty.

Stewards View: N/A

Decision: Polar will have 5 seconds removed from his race time.

_____________________________

Incident: Smertens makes contact with King_MJJ into turn 1.

Stewards View: Smertens outbrakes himself going into turn 1 on lap 1, and whilst nothing too serious happened, this was deemed dangerous and could’ve been a lot worse.

Decision: Smertens will receive a reprimand.

_____________________________

Incident: Steentje and tekken make contact on the exit of turn 1.

Stewards View: The stewards cannot decipher what happened in this incident without footage from Steentje. We are currently awaiting his footage and this will be assessed later.

Decision: N/A

_____________________________

Incident: Steentje is caught weaving between T1 and T2.

Stewards View: Steentje is trying to defend from tekken, but makes multiple defensive moves whilst going up the hill.

Decision: Steentje will receive a 10 second penalty added to his race time.

Formula 3

Incident: Bigmetsaa hit X before the formation lap.

Stewards View: N/A

Decision: Bigmetsaa will receive a reprimand, as a 10 second penalty did not affect his finishing position.

_____________________________

Incident: ColoMan and MrBean make contact after 1.

Stewards View: MrBean is trying to go up the outside of ColoMan after T1, and we feel that ColoMan shuts the door a little too much whilst MrBean is alongside, causing the collision.

Decision: ColoMan will receive a reprimand for reckless driving.

_____________________________

Incident: Fear pushes Coloman off track at turn 3.

Stewards View: Whilst the move is considered okay, it is very late and probably a little too far back, and then doesn’t give any space on exit, pushing Coloman off track.

Decision: Fear will receive a 5 second penalty added to his race time.

_____________________________

Incident: Whilst lapped, Jazy impedes taffy at turn 5.

Stewards View: It looked like Jazy was trying to recover a spin, and got in the way of Taffy as he reentered the racing line.

Decision: Jazy will receive 2 points and a reprimand.

_____________________________

Incident: Taffy gets rear ended at turn 2.

Stewards View: There simply is not enough footage to decipher what or who caused this collision.

Decision: No further action warranted.

_____________________________

Incident: Taffy and MrBean make contact on the run down to T2.

Stewards View: It seems as though MrBean and Taffy are simply fighting over the same piece of tarmac, and both drivers make moves to cause the contact in this collision, whilst racing fairly. This is a racing incident.

Decision: No further action warranted.
